I wish you could have heard Wyatt when we took this picture (we forgot to videotape that time) getting very tired, and was incredibly frustrated that he couldn't get the toy in his mouth! Errrr, Mommy! I need to figure out how to edit video on our camera and upload some footage. We've caught some great expressions while attempting to get cereal into Wyatt. Today was our third time and he did much better!

Personal Best
I. love. coupons. Especially stacking them, which is new to me. Yesterday I had a personal best. Boxes of Huggies wipes were on sale at Dillons for $9.29. Minus 4 coupons multiplied, we got them for $5.29. That's a sweet deal.
Any personal best couponing stories out there?

And later that day...
For the first time I actually saved more than I spent! Two boxes of rice cereal and a bag of salad. Cost $2.84. Savings $3.69. Woo-hoo!
And speaking of rice cereal...Wyatt had his four month appointment yesterday. He weighs 14 lbs, 3 oz, and I forgot to ask what percentile he is. Oops. Our doctor thinks he's ready for cereal and that he could use the calories since his growth rate slowed a bit. Wyatt might be ready, but I'm not so sure Mommy's ready. FOOD? Already? Slow down, sweet boy!!!
Aunt Janene dug out her johnny-jump-up for Wyatt to try. Can we say FUN new toy? He looks a little scared in this picture, but he really does love it. He's almost rolling over, too. Randy's bet is Thursday for the complete roll over. That silly arm just gets in the way!

Welcome Baby Girls!
I just realized that I've been so slack in posting that I haven't announced the newest member of our family! My beautiful niece Addie Mae was born July 28 in Fargo. We CAN'T WAIT to meet her when we go up to Minnesota in September!! Thanks to Addie's beautiful mama for sending lots of pictures! Check out her blog to meet Addie.
Thursday our dear friends Jack and Amy welcomed Baby MacKenzie Claire to the world. We met her Thursday evening, and she's beautiful! Check out Amy's blog for pics of their precious girl.
We're off to Grammie and Gramps house to spend the evening with them and Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Brian. Happy Saturday!

New Summer Staple
Every summer we've come up with a new summer dinner staple. A couple years ago it was pasta salad. Last summer it was grilled pizzas. Both are still on the menu this year.
This year's new favorite is grilled chicken sandwiches in different variations.
Herbed Chicken Sandwiches
Pound chicken breast thin, salt and pepper and grill.
Mince fresh thyme, basil, and a little rosemary and mix with mayo
Toast buns, spread with herbed mayo, top with chicken, sharp provolone, bacon, avocado, and tomato. MMmmm.
Spicy Chicken Sandwiches
Marinade chicken in preferred marinade - I made it with a lime garlic marinade the other night and it was yummy.
Season mayo with cumin, chili powder, and cayenne.
Make sandwiches as above.
Randy wants these at least once a week and would be perfectly happy if I made them more often. Enjoy!

Like Father, Like Son
People ask us who Wyatt looks most like. While sometimes I think he looks a little like my brother's baby pictures, all I have to do is look at these and know exactly to whom he belongs.
Randy - 3 months
Wyatt - 3 months (and in his daddy's outfit)
We had some fun with the camera on Saturday taking his 3 month pictures (3 mon, 2 weeks). Enjoy!

He's starting to laugh more now. Last night my brother had his giggling as much as we've heard. My sister in law taped it, and I'll try to get it up when she sends it to me. So adorable!

Look at that belly button!
Good thing we didn't wait much longer to try this outfit on! At three months Randy weighed 13 lbs. and 12 oz. Saturday we weighed Wyatt and know he weighs at least 13 lbs, but the scale didn't show ounces.

Sleep Stories
I have posts to update and pics to upload...I just need time to do it! This one, however, is worth sharing with no photos.
I have gotten more sleep in the past two nights than I have since well before Wyatt was born. It's LOVELY. Wednesday night Wyatt slept longer than Randy and woke up at 10 till 6 for his first feeding. Then this morning he slept till 7 AM!!! All this after a week of getting up to pop the binki in his mouth 5-7 times a night and dealing with fussy naptimes. And you know what the solution is? My son has finally found and basically committed to...his thumb. We would have preferred the binki...you can take a binki away eventually. But Wyatt has willfully chosen his thumb. A couple of times over the last month we have removed his thumb from his mouth and popped the binki in. He has spit out the binki and promptly popped his thumb back in.
He's been playing with his fist, his fingers, and his thumb for the last couple of weeks, but I think he's finally found and really figured out the thumb.
Ahhhh....blissful sleep!
