New Journey, New Routine

Today we had two doctor's appointments - Ryder's 2 week and Wyatt's 18 month (even though he's turning 20 months on Sunday). Thankfully, Daddy was still home to help us get to the clinic by 9 am.

Wyatt's Stats:
Weight: 23 lbs. 9 oz. - 13%
Height: 32 1/2" - 36%

His doctor has told us he wouldn't be the biggest kid in class. Today he told us he wouldn't be the tallest kid in class. No shockers there.

Ryder's Stats:
Weight: 7 lbs. 10 oz. - still 4.9 oz. short of regaining his birth weight, but he's well on his way

Tomorrow we start back to "normal," our new normal at least. Randy goes back to work, I actually start getting Ryder on a schedule, Wyatt starts readjusting to life without Daddy and life with Mommy dividing her attention, and Ryder will continue to eat, sleep, poop, and toot (he's the tootinest baby ev.er!). We're both a bit nervous about this. I've been spoiled rotten for the last 19 days, and Randy has enjoyed the time off (he got super creative but that's another post).

So. Back to normal. Until Wednesday when we we have a family Christmas gathering all day. Then he works Thursday. And then Friday is Christmas Eve and his office is closed. So this really isn't all that bad.

Sing with Me!

Two days ago I started singing Jingle Bells. Wyatt, who repeats everything we say in his own way, sang with me. This is what it sounded like.

Me: Jingle bells
Wyatt: Daba dells

Me: Jingle bells
Wyatt: Daba dells

Me: Jingle all the way!
Wyatt: Way, way, way (followed by a HUGE grin)

Today I start singing it and he goes straight to "way, way, way."

We also started playing Ring Around the Rosie. He wants to fall down at "Pocket full of posies." He just can't wait! And afterwards I hear him singing "Ah-gies, ah-gies, all fa don!"

We don't have many quiet moments in our house anymore. Thankfully, Ryder had 9 months of incubating and getting used to all of Wyatt's noise. So now he just sleeps through it. Good boy.

His brother is still figuring all this out, but so far he's doing a great job and has fun giving his brother kisses and pats.
