Wyatt was born at approximately 1:00pm today, and the reason I say "approximate" is because I am not privy to that information, apparently. What I am privy too, however, is the fact that she started pushing at 10:20am, 30 seconds after she sent me a text (don't you just love modern technology mixed with an epidural?) saying that her bet was 10:27am and Randy's bet was 10:40am...ha! Little did they know, that had a miniature cowboy on their hands! I mean come on - just look at those cowboy-riding thighs!
When Dana asked me to guest-post for her when she had Itty Bitty Wyatt, I didn't know whether I should impart such grand motherly wisdom (because having two makes you an expert, you know...) such as pee before tending to him at various times during the dead of night because you never know when you'll ever get to go again. Or, be sure to pack at least two extra shirts for YOU because there will be leaking going on. Or how about the fact that you should just keep a bottle of Green Works cleaner on the changing table because there WILL be urine on the wall, a lot...not to mention on anything else within 2.34 feet.
But, being that this is their first baby, I thought better of it and decided that I should just let them realize the special blessing a first baby is, on their own. Because really, it is. You can never have another first, back. There's just something about learning along with that firstborn that's extra special. There's nothing better than hearing your baby coo for the first time, or say "mommy" and "daddy," for the first time...because no matter how old they are when they say it, you think they're a gosh-darn genius.
So Wyatt Jacob ~ Welcome to the world little one. You were SO wanted and loved before your mommy and daddy even heard your first heartbeat. Your family loves you to pieces and can't wait to share in your firsts, love and kiss on your tiny little cheeks (sorry if some are wet...you'll get used to those), and watch you grow into the man that you'll all-too-quickly become.

Congratulations! Great news to wake up to this morning. I checked your blog last night and then told Shaun that apparently the baby was holding out past the weekend. Many blessings with your new, adorable little boy!

Congrats Dana!!!! He is a doll, really, I'm not saying that, very cute and chubby!!! All the best to you!! One thing I didn't learn till my second was to pee before nursing because your bladder can get in the way of your uterus contracting while nursing... interesting huh?? If you ever want any random mother advice about anything, so matter how weird or gooey, let me know!!
I can't believe how chuncky his is! That explains why you were so huge! Good luck losing all that baby weight.
